One of my all-time favorite roommates, Jennie Rae, recently posted about some of her favorite things and at the end of it, asked the (probably rhetorical) question: "what are some of your favorite things?" and it got me thinking... what are some of my favorite random things? Here's what I've come up with...
1. My engagement ring.
I just love looking at it!
2. Pink satin binding.
Jesse calls it my "baby blanket" but I don't care... it helps me relieve stress. :)
3. My canopy.
It's so romantic and soothing.
4. Candles.
I love the soft light and atmosphere and they smell great.
5. Ikea rocking chair
I love the soothing rocking motion from a rocking chair and this one is great because it doesn't move and there's no risk of rocking on your toes!
6.Welcome candles
Cozy, cozy, cozy! I think they bring so much atmosphere to a dreary apartment complex.
7. Puffs plus Vicks tissues.
These are my new favorite things! It's like a breath of fresh air every time I blow my nose....which is all the time since I'm always so congested.
8. Fresh cut flowers.
I have tulips beside my bed right now.... beautiful.

Thanksgiving
Last Tuesday (before Thanksgiving) Jesse scared me to death...we were climbing into bed and all of the sudden he had extreme chills and was shaking uncontrollably. I piled on the blankets, squeezed him and rubbed his arms and legs trying to warm him up. (All the while I was sweating like a pig). I realized he had a fever but we didn't have a thermometer so we don't know how high it went. I gave him Tylenol and Advil and he fell asleep. I turned once in my sleep though and pulled the covers a little bit and he was shaking again. It was scary, but we got through.
The next day we were supposed to go to my parents and help make Thanksgiving dinner and spend the night, but Jesse wasn't fit for it. So while he slept all day on Wednesday, I sewed up a storm and made 5 pillowcases (I made pillowcases for my whole family as Christmas presents). I also cleaned and recleaned, did laundry etc. I got a lot done. :) Poor Jesse was miserable.
On Thanksgiving we did end up going down to my parents and grandparent's for dinners. (We have two every year) hehe. Jesse was a trooper and came along. He spent most of his time the couch watching football or half sleeping.
I had a good time visiting family but I wasn't really feeling well either. Turns out when I woke up the next day I was so sick, and my eyes were goopy and I had a sore throat, eck, it was horrible. I didn't go Black Friday shopping... but I went home on Saturday to have breakfast with my family before Meg & Josh and the kids went home. Then I went out to lunch with Nanny, Mumsie and Meghan. I really wasn't feeling well but I wanted to go and I'm glad I did. It was nice.
We're still sick... blasted germs! But slowly getting better. :)
