I love fancy things and desserts are no exception! When I was a young woman, Sister Diane Speece was in the YW presidency and one night for an activity she taught us how to make cream puffs. I hadn't made them in a long time and asked myself, "why not make them today?" So I did. I put some chocolate on them so are they eclairs now? I dunno, but they're yummy!

My
It had been so long since I've made creme brulee and yesterday seemed like the perfect day to make it!! Jesse got me a torch and ramekins for Christmas. Bekah came to visit and helped me make it.
I also made quiche! (Bekah made the crust though) It was my own recipe... so amazing! The green beans were also fabulous! Oh man I love cooking!

Part-Time
Before Christmas break I talked to the head of school to see if I could get my hours cut... the early hours and long commute have been taking their toll on me. Sleepless nights. Emotional break downs. Poor Jesse has been so great and patient, even giving up sleep for me. Anyway... last Friday the head of school came to me and told me that an assistant teacher wanted more hours and asked if I still wanted to fewer. I said yes!
Friday was my last day of working aftercare. I now work from 7:30-1:30 instead of 7:30-4. It's great to be home before Jesse and have dinner waiting for him! I forgot how much I love cooking and baking! Jesse's grateful too. :)

Christmas
I'm a little behind on this post... you would think with all the time I had this week I would have gotten around to it, but nope. :) So here ya go.
Christmas was surprisingly hard for me this year....Jesse and I decided to have our first Christmas on our own and I got really homesick on Christmas Eve. I even cried. And it didn't help that I called my family (who went to Meghan's) and I could hear them laughing and stuff and that set me off again. But my loving husband asked me if I wanted to go out on Christmas day instead of Boxing day. So we did! :)
I had a hard time sleeping on Christmas Eve... I woke up every hour I'm sure and almost woke Jesse up at 4am to go open presents, but I didn't. :) Jesse woke me up at 7.
Jesse and I planned on having KFC for Christmas dinner (just to be different and we couldn't decided on what we wanted), we picked it up on Christmas Eve and put it in the fridge. But since we were going to Meghan's we ate it for Christmas breakfast! :)
We surprised my family by showing up at Meghan's on Christmas day. Josh, Rachel, Andrew and Max pulled in the drive-way behind us (they went sled riding) and Max ran over to us and said, "Sarah! Hi, Sarah." He's so charming. Everyone else was sleeping.... so they weren't so excited except Maddie. She was down for her nap and I got to go get her out of bed. She looked at me and didn't recognize me, so I said I was Aunt Sarah and she got so excited! She calls me, "Sa." I picked her up and she hugged and squeezed me. Awh, it was so nice. :) Jesse came in after and I said it was Uncle Jesse and she wanted to go to him, she kept saying, "Jes-see" "Jes-see" she hugged and squeezed him too. She is the sweetest!
We had a good time at Meghan's. Rachel got this game called, "Repeat Pete." Very fun, I recommend it to everyone. :)
We didn't take any pictures...I wish we had.
