Fishing Season...AKA Raining Season

Every spring, my family has gone camping in Potter County ("God's Country")for the first day of trout season since my dad was a kid . 

My mom was sick with an ear infection, Bekah had to work and Meghan, Josh and the kids didn't want to come because it was supposed to rain... so they didn't come. It was just Jesse and I, my dad and two youngest siblings (Rachel and Andrew). We all slept in my parent's pop-up, it was nice and toasty warm!

The weather was fine Friday evening/night but as soon as you could say "trout season is open" it started to rain. And it never just rains up there, it pours. And it's wicked cold rain. Andrew and Dad got up early and went fishing but didn't catch anything.

Saturday afternoon we all piled in Dad's truck, strapped on the canoe and headed down to Bush Dam. In the rain.  I didn't go out on the canoe..it was too cold and rainy! :)

Three Hundred

Today is our 300th day of being sealed! Wow, time flies!

Candles, Tulips and Chocolates

Jesse went to the grocery store to pick up some eggs for me (for my class) because I wasn't feeling well. He came home, went to the bedroom and then came back out and asked if I had my cell phone with me... I didn't so he found it and brought it to me. He said he'd call me.... and went back to the bedroom.

A couple minutes later I got the call... I walked into the bedroom and saw this!!!

 He got me my favorite flowers (pink tulips) and my favorite chocolates -- Baci!(aka Chocolate Happiness) and lit 75 tea lights and put them all over our bedroom. I instantly felt so happy and forgot my worries and discomfort. Awh, what a man!

Cooking Up A Storm

My sister-in-law, Ashley, sent me a link to this awesome food blog ... ourbestbites.com ... I have been trying out A LOT of the recipes. I made Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos (yummy), Strawberry Spinach Salad with Lemon-Poppy dressing, Sweet & Spicy Cucumbers (Jesse made these -- they were a bit spicy but really good), and Zucchini Fries. I also had a recipe for Blueberry Scones with a Lemon Glaze. Oooooh they were good. I love cooking.

On my way to work this morning I got a call from school asking if I'd stay until 5pm because the other lead toddler teacher called off sick. I said I would... I could use some extra cash. I'm not excited about staying until then, but oh well. I'm with the napping children right now -- they'll probably sleep for another hour. :) Then we'll go outside and play etc. etc.

I'm running out of things to talk about. So goodbye. :)
