Pregnancy

Sometimes I don't feel like I look pregnant... People don't say, "Awh! When are you due??" Except at church since they know I'm pregnant. To prove my point, here are pictures of me that I took on Friday morning.

I'm 32 weeks! I look like I'm like 20 weeks pregnant. (I measure 28 weeks.)

Only 8 more weeks to go. It's amazing how fast this time went. I had an appointment with my midwife, Julie, last Wednesday. She said that I am very healthy! I haven't gained much weight (I lost about 10 lbs at the beginning because I couldn't keep much down), my blood pressure was 117/70, my glucose levels were "fantastic," I'm not anemic, the baby is head down for the time being, the baby's heart rate is about 145 and got agitated (heart rate increased and it moved around) when Julie poked around. (Jesse says, "Just like its mommy!" :) haha What can I say?) And she was very pleased that I'm not "puffy" because of all the heat. My secret? I drink a TON of water and eat lots of berries. And I haven't been doing much of anything besides trying to stay cool. Luckily it's been SO nice out--not so humid and in the 70's.

I've been starting to gather things together for the hospital. Any "must have" items that I should take?

Oh, and I've been going through the baby clothes that my sister gave me... there aren't as many newborn things as I had anticipated so if anyone has any baby clothes (boy & girl) they can let me borrow, I'll pay shipping! And when I'm finished I'll send them back. :) Let me know.

I love being pregnant. I've been very blessed to have an easy pregnancy, I thank Heavenly Father daily for the blessing of becoming a mother! It's been my goal for as long as I can remember, since my mom had Bekah -- I've literally been preparing my entire life. This is why I chose Child Development and Professional Preschool Education as my major(s) in college, and why I endured 6 weeks of Montessori Infant/Toddler training the first six weeks of my marriage..... to know how I can best raise our children. I'm very grateful for my wonderful husband who wants me to be a stay-at-home-mom so I can raise our children. :)

Newborn clothes are all I have left from Andrew. Even after 15 years I can't part with them. You'll be a great mom!

Mum supplied all of Max's baby clothes that why there aren't many!

P.S. Don't take too much too the hospital. You will be too busy really to do much other than have a baby! ;o) (I went to the hospital with only the clothes I was wearing with Mads.) There will still be stores after the baby is born, if you find you need something.

Having just gotten back from the hospital I can tell you one thing - DON'T pack as much as I did. Hah! I didn't need half of it. In the end, this is all I really used:
- a going home outfit for me (I just wore the hospital gowns the whole time I was there - I didn't have the energy or desire to 'dress up')
- a going home outfit for the baby (this included a blanket, onesie, and sleeper)
- something small for me to do (I took my kindle so I could read, though I only used it once or twice)
- a change of clothes for the hubby
- some small toiletry items (toothbrush, toothpaste, a body wash I liked, travel size shampoo and conditioner, chapstick, hairbrush, and some hair clips/bands)
- some snacks (both Tyler and I got very munchy in between meals at the hospital - right after Eve's 3 am feeding was the worst!)
- a list of important numbers/people to call

I think that was about it. Oh, we also took Eve's journal so we could write in it at the hospital. That's what WE used, anyway. Obviously you can take or leave that list as you wish. Feel free to message me on facebook if you have any other questions. I'm so excited for you in this next stage - It is SERIOUSLY the BEST THING EVER. I absolutely love being a mother and I know that you will too. Best of luck!
