Dating...Courting...Engaging!

For our first date we went to Outback... As we looked at the menu, Jesse said to me, "I came here for a steak, you should get one too." So I did. It was yummy. We didn't talk much as we ate our steaks and sipped a Cocoberry smoothie (yep, first date we were sharing a straw!) but we both agree that it was a magical first date. To make a long story short, we kissed. :D

Second date, Jesse came down to Altoona, but he got lost from my directions and I had to go find him. :) It was so snowy out, but we ventured out and went to Fridays.

On our third date we went to Cafe 210 in State College with our friends Tom and Leann (that's where we were in the picture).

I can't remember our dates after that, we spent a lot of time together over the next 2 weeks....we even flew down to Florida and took a nice long drive back. It was that fateful trip that we became engaged! We were driving along somewhere in North Carolina I think when we starting talking about the future and about getting married - we agreed that we both love each other and that we should get married. It became "official" when Jesse pulled into a rest area - he must have been nervous because he accidentally went to the "truck" side (hehe) - he turned off the car and said, "There's something I've been wanting to ask you...Will you marry me?" I don't think I let him finish the question before I said yes and kissed him!

I got my ring two weeks later - on February 13th. Funny story about the ring, several months before Jesse and I started dating he went to Helzburg Diamonds with a woman from his home ward so she could have her ring sized. He looked around at the rings and found an engagement ring that he absolutely loved, and it was even on sale! He almost bought the ring but decided against it because he wasn't dating anyone and "what if she hated it" kind of deal.... But he remembered it when we got engaged so he looked it up online and showed it to me - I immediately fell in love with it and that's the one we got! To make it even better, we went to Helzburg to see if they had and lo, and behold! they did....AND it fit me perfectly!!! The nice man behind the counter said that never happens. Fate, my dear friends, fate.
